A virtual environment, or virtualization, is a so-called 'abstract layer' that simulates the characteristics of a specific environment. These virtual environments run on regular computers and make use of their physical components, such as processors, hard drives, and storage devices. In this way, a single computer can provide multiple virtual instances, known as 'VMs', or 'Virtual Machines'.
