Paessler PRTG not only monitors traditional IT infrastructure, but also industrial networks and medical devices. It is an advanced monitoring solution for all your different infrastructure segments. For traditional IT infrastructure monitoring, you can attend one of our training courses, ranging from beginner to enterprise level. You can find available training dates here.
Various Paessler PRTG training courses
As Operational Technology (OT) is one of our important business areas, we have introduced OT sensors over the last two years and launched Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server last year. Now we are pleased to offer you the opportunity to receive training on these topics.
This year, we are launching training for monitoring OT environments with Paessler PRTG, and this blog post will provide you with some valuable insights.
Who is Paessler OT training for?
Our OT training is designed for OT and IT professionals who want to monitor network devices in their OT environment using protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, SNMP or using REST API and others.
My colleague Shaun Behrens covered these sensors in his blog article Monitoring industrial IT and OT with PRTG: a sensor round-up. Don't miss the opportunity to check it out! The topics covered in Shaun's blog article will be the focus of our OT training.
In addition, we will show you how to integrate Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server and get an overview of OT network components within your control systems.
The training is based on some theory and is mostly hands-on. You will be provided with virtual machines where you will explore various features and functionalities.
What topics does Paessler OT training cover?
We will introduce you to five different modules, starting with an exploration of the OT space, leading you through success stories and exploring PRTG's architecture, devices, and protocols.
Furthermore, we will install PRTG on a clean machine and go through topics such as auto-discovery, device templates, groups, devices, sensors and various functionalities within the device tree.
We will cover the following sensors: OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, Rittal, Beckhoff, SNMP custom, and REST API. Our training will demonstrate how to monitor various target devices using these protocols, triggering MQTT and OPC UA notifications, along with other available options.
Data visualization through libraries, reports, and maps is an essential topic that we will also cover. Finally, we will demonstrate integration with PRTG OPC UA Server.
When will the training be released?
The first courses will start in April 2024. Book your seat today! Be sure to check out our PRTG Training website, our blog that covers IT, OT, monitoring, and PRTG, and subscribe to our awesome weekly newsletter so we can keep you informed.
