Let's dive into what's new and improved in this release.

New sensor types

*️⃣ SSH Disk Free v2

The SSH Disk Free v2 sensor has officially left its BETA status and is now fully supported. This sensor monitors the free space of various disks and the total available disk space of the entire system using SSH connections.

*️⃣ SNMP Linux Block Device I/O sensor

This release introduces the brand-new SNMP Linux Block Device I/O sensor. This sensor is the successor to the SNMP Linux Physical Disk sensor and lets you monitor input/output operations on disks of Linux/Unix systems via SNMP. If you need to change your SNMP version, check out our Knowledge Base article for detailed guidance:

*️⃣ REST Custom v2 sensor

The REST Custom v2 sensor has finally left its BETA status and is now fully supported. We've also made it more user-friendly by pre-filling the Request URL field with "https://%host/" to help you identify the supported placeholder. Additionally, we fixed an issue where the sensor was ignoring Custom HTTP Headers settings for the Accept header.

*️⃣ Experimental: REST JSON Data sensor

We're excited to introduce the new experimental REST JSON Data sensor. This sensor queries an HTTP endpoint and returns JSON data in a well-defined format - the same format used by the Script v2 sensor. The sensor uses REST API credentials and creates the HTTP Status and Status channels by default, with additional channels created based on the JSON response.

Additional improvements and fixes

🧩 Sensor updates

▪️ We're discontinuing the Python Script Advanced sensor with this release. Its successor is the Script v2 sensor.

▪️ The SSH INodes Free v1 sensor is being discontinued, having been replaced by the SSH INodes Free v2 sensor.

▪️ We've migrated several other sensors from v1 to v2, including SSH Meminfo, SSH Load Average, and SSH Remote Ping sensors.

▪️ Fixed an issue with SSH v2 sensors where they couldn't reconnect to target devices after a broken connection in some circumstances.

▪️ REST API-based sensors now accept more success response codes in the range of 200-299.

▪️ Fixed an SNMP sensor issue that reported timeout -2003 errors in certain cases after updating to PRTG version 25.2.106.

🧩 Server improvements

We've made several fixes to the Notifications area:

▪️ Email notifications are now sent again only once when you use the default setting "Use direct delivery with the built-in email server".

▪️ PRTG now correctly recognizes transitions from paused to resumed states for sensors with State triggers.

▪️ Test notifications for MQTT messages are now sent correctly without the "TEST" prefix that was changing the topic.

We've also fixed license activation issues for PRTG in offline environments when the activation file contained certain Unicode/UTF characters. Additionally, you'll now see an Activation Token on the License Information page, which shows the identifier of your activated Paessler PRTG Enterprise and Subscription licenses.

🧩 New UI/API v2 enhancements

▪️ You can now create a Ping sensor with the new endpoint /experimental/devices/{id}/sensor via POST request.

▪️ We've improved the supported number of ciphers used in the TLS configuration for "Default security (TLS 1.3, TLS 1.2)" in the PRTG Web Server settings.

▪️ Fixed an issue that prevented displaying PRTG in the new UI when using certain PRTG Subscription licenses.

🧩 WebGUI fixes

▪️ Fixed an issue in both classic and new UI where objects weren't displayed in the "Probe Group Devices" column on the "Sensors With Alarms" page when using Firefox.
