prtg version 25.2.106 is out now

Let’s dive into the highlights of this release!

Improved: Sensor migrations and device templates

The migration of the SSH INodes Free sensor to its successor, SSH INodes Free v2, is now supported. This migration ensures your monitoring stays efficient and future-proof, while maintaining existing data and sensor configurations.
You’ll also find updated device templates that now include v2 sensor types.

Enhanced sensors

This release includes updates to popular sensors:

➡️ The Script v2 sensor now supports native executables, allowing you to run custom scripts or programs directly on probe systems.

➡️ Improved error handling across sensors so that specific exceptions provide detailed, actionable error messages instead of generic ones.

➡️ The VMware Datastore (SOAP) sensor now comes with pre-defined free-space thresholds, making monitoring more straightforward out of the box.

Fixed: Key updates and bug squashes

This release also fixes a number of bugs, such as:

A fix for geo location data in Geo Maps, ensuring map data appears in English when appropriate.

Resolved SMTP configuration issues where connections were abruptly cut, improving email notifications.

✅ Improved Remote Probe logs so that all content displays correctly.

New call-to-action

Deprecations to be aware of

The Python Script Advanced sensor is officially deprecated in this release. If you’re still using it, now’s the time to switch to the Script v2 sensor, which offers better performance and compatibility. Similarly, the SSH INodes Free v1 sensor is no longer supported for new devices, making v2 the default.

Language and usability updates

Finally, updated German and Spanish language files are included, alongside minor tweaks to make the user manual and interface clearer.
