some news about prtg network monitor version 20.3.60

Improved SMS and SNS notifications

This version comes with a bunch of improvements for the delivery of SMS notifications. For example, we added the option to use HTTP basic authentication for custom SMS service providers that require authentication.

We also added updated endpoints for BulkSMS delivery, which will simplify the configuration of SMS delivery for you.

And we added new AWS locations for Amazon SNS notifications. That means you can now choose any region that AWS currently provides for SNS notifications. Plus, SNS notifications can now be sent to encrypted topics.

Speaking of the locations of Amazon services, Europe (Stockholm) is now also available for all Amazon CloudWatch sensors.

But where are the new sensors?

We need to confess that we wanted to add new sensors already to PRTG release 20.3.60. However, there were some last-minute changes, so we decided to release the new sensors in the upcoming release 20.3.61 in August. Which sensors can you expect in the next release? Caution, spoiler alert…

Our PRTG roadmap mentions another MQTT sensor and there should also be something for monitoring your Microsoft365 environment. I don't want to reveal too much, but the next release will be awesome, so stay tuned. 😊

Slightly polished license information in Paessler PRTG Enterprise Monitor

For all of you who are already using PRTG Enterprise Monitor, we now present the licensing information in a more transparent and traceable way. We also added growls that are displayed starting as a warning (yellow) if the license is valid for less than 14 days, and as an error (red) once the validity reaches less 7 days. This keeps you informed about the expiration of your license.

You are monitoring a large IT infrastructure but never heard of PRTG Enterprise Monitor yet? Then you should look at this page and learn more about the annual per sensor subscription, how to easily roll out more than 20,000 sensors and the ITOps Board which is exclusively provided for PRTG Enterprise Monitor.

New call-to-action

Plus some more changes and fixes

PRTG 20.3.60 comes with many other improvements. For example, we added a lookup file to the VMware Host Hardware (WBEM) sensor to show the health state in a more comprehensible way; we added a validation for domain controllers that you've been able to individually define for the PRTG Active Directory integration since the last version, and we improved the performance of the dependency calculation that will be especially noticeable in larger installations.

Aside from that, we also fixed 58 bugs, implemented 73 feature tickets, and finished 32 tasks, ToDos, and stories with PRTG release 20.3.60. Find all the details on our release notes page.
