When we launched Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server in April of 2023, we were focused on helping OT technicians get a complete overview of their OT environment – including devices and systems that are considered to be “IT” – in their SCADA system. We knew we were onto something, and by the end of 2023, our opinion was validated: PRTG OPC UA Server won an award (2023 NED Innovation Award in the Software & Computers category) and was nominated by Computer & Automation for a Product of the Year award (we need your help with this)! What is Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server?

Typically, supervisory and control systems like SCADA systems, MES, DCS, and others include comprehensive data about OT equipment. Meanwhile, IT devices and systems are often managed by separate teams. These IT components are crucial for the functioning of the OT environment, and so it makes sense that OT technicians need to see a combined overview that includes both the OT and IT parts of their infrastructure in their supervisory and control systems.

Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server bridges this gap between OT and IT by providing monitoring data about IT devices and systems to OPC UA-based supervisory and control systems. This helps OT teams get a single overview, including centralized alarms and the ability to collect historical data from their network components.

2023 NED Innovation Award

It’s a great honor for us that Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server was awarded the 2023 NED Innovation Award in the Software & Computers category. As our Global IoT Business Development Manager, David Montoya put it: "We are thrilled that New Equipment Digest readers voted for PRTG OPC UA Server to win the NED Innovation Award in the Software & Computer category.”

For the past 7 years, NED (New Equipment Digest) has been presenting Innovation Awards to products that represent potential in the market.
