Welcome to the third and last part of our blog series about PRTG as a central information hub. This time it's about general information that's of interest to everybody at Paessler - or at any other company.

Looking for a Conference Room?

A script reads the availability of meeting rooms from Outlook and displays them on the overview maps. Employees can check the dashboard on their way to the conference rooms and see what room their meeting is in, or they can check which room is currently available for a spontaneous meeting.

On our office map we show time, meeting rooms, the office entrances' webcams, current food trucks, the traffic situation, and much more... On our office map we show time, meeting rooms, the office entrances' webcams, current food trucks, the traffic situation, and much more...

The Food Truck Sensor

Lunch is an important issue in every company. Food trucks pass by Paessler’s office with varying time schedules and menus, from soups to BBQs or pasta. A PRTG script reads data from the Food Truck website and displays a list of trucks near the office, thus facilitating lunch planning for colleagues.

The Current Road Traffic Situation

Sit in a traffic jam for an hour on the way home, or finish the presentation for next week, and then drive home quickly and without traffic jams? Using custom HTML the current traffic situation is shared with the office. A quick look at the monitor and you know whether it makes sense to wait or not.

More Scripts and Examples

You can find more example scripts in our Knowledge Base, so you can extend PRTG with additional features. Maybe we've fired up your imagination and you have some ideas for your own scripts. Integrate them into PRTG and use PRTG's maps, alerts, and reports to make your scripts valuable helpers for your daily work.
