Jonah Kowall

Jonah Kowall is SVP of Product and Design at Paessler GmbH, where he leads product strategy and design for PRTG Network Monitor and the company's observability solutions. As a computer scientist and open-source advocate, Jonah brings extensive experience in IT operations, security, and performance monitoring to help organizations modernize their monitoring practices.

Jonah serves on the founding team and technical leadership committee for OpenSearch, a sub-foundation of the Linux Foundation, and is a maintainer of Jaeger, a CNCF graduated project for distributed tracing. He is also an active contributor to OpenTelemetry. His open-source work focuses on advancing observability technologies and making enterprise-grade monitoring accessible to organizations of all sizes.

Prior to joining Paessler, Jonah held leadership positions at Aiven, Logz.io, Kentik, AppDynamics, and Cisco, where he developed products for cloud and network observability. He also led research as Gartner Research VP focused on IT operations and monitoring. Jonah holds CISSP and CISA certifications.
