all you need to know about the latest prtg release 25.1.104

New: Audit Logging feature for PRTG Subscription

With this version, we introduce the Audit Logging exclusively for PRTG Subscription and Paessler PRTG Enterprise Monitor licenses. The feature offers different levels (0-2) based on your license type. You can now enable or disable sensitive data logging under PRTG System Setup -> Audit Log. The basic feature stores data in the Audit.Log folder, while the extended option lets you send logs via Syslog to third-party systems.

We also enhanced the Send Syslog Message template to support not only UDP but also TCP and TLS for more secure data transport.

New: Single Sign-on via new UI & API v2

SSO login now works with the new UI and API v2 when configured in your Single Sign-On Settings. We've enabled SSO on the Swagger user interface and API v2 reference and implemented a session cookie for the application server.

Remember to configure the callback URL with your SSO provider (Entra ID or Okta). For detailed instructions, check our Knowledge Base articles on integrating Microsoft Entra ID and integrating Okta SSO.

NEW: Sensors in PRTG

*️⃣ Cisco WLC Access Point Overview sensor

The Cisco WLC Access Point Overview sensor has now left its BETA status and is fully supported. Designed to monitor access points connected to your Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (WLC), it offers comprehensive insights into your wireless network’s performance.

*️⃣ PRTG Data Hub sensors

The PRTG Data Hub Process, Traffic, and Rule sensors have also graduated from BETA. These sensors, which were introduced as experimental in PRTG 24.3.100, now provide full support for monitoring your PRTG Data Hub instance with enhanced stability and accuracy.

*️⃣ Port v2 sensor

The Port v2 sensor is now fully supported. Combining the features of the traditional Port sensor and the Port Range sensor, it enables more flexible monitoring of network services by connecting to one or more TCP/IP ports.

*️⃣ SSH INodes Free v2 sensor

Monitoring free index nodes on disks for Linux/Unix and macOS systems via Secure Shell (SSH), the SSH INodes Free v2 sensor has left its BETA phase and is now available for full production use.

☝️ Please also note that the SSH INodes Free sensor will be migrated to its successor, SSH INodes Free v2, in the upcoming PRTG version 25.x.106. A “To Do” ticket will be issued to guide you through this transition.

Additional updates and fixes

We're announcing the deprecation of the Python Script Advanced sensor. If you use this sensor, you'll receive a “To Do” ticket. The successor is the Script v2 sensor, which left BETA status with PRTG version 24.2.97.
👉 Check our Knowledge Base article for migration guidance.

Additionally, the PRTG application server will now be installed by default with new commercial installations (not for trial licenses). After installation, you'll see the "Open new UI" button on the login page.

We've also updated our Delphi environment to version 12.2.

Bug fixes

This release also includes several important fixes:

✅ Fixed an issue with SSH sensors that reported access violations and frequently changed status

✅ Resolved a problem where enabled Geo Maps caused ajax timeout errors or slow performance when firewalls blocked outgoing connections

✅ Fixed SSO login issues after server migration or license key changes

✅ Corrected report display issues in CSV format for Russian, Chinese, and Japanese languages

New UI and API v2 improvements

We've made significant improvements to the new UI and API v2:

✅ Enhanced application server performance to reduce memory consumption, especially for larger installations

✅ Added the ability to set different refresh intervals for page refreshes in your Account Settings

✅ Improved acknowledged sensors to show who acknowledged an alarm with a timestamp and error message

Certificate update

PRTG has received renewed code signing certificates with this release. If you experience issues during the update process, we've uploaded an intermediate version (25.1.104.1906) as a stepping stone before updating to the final stable version.
